Re: Introduce your machine

i am using a macbook for my daily household use. it comes with a dvdr drive and built-in webcam (isight). i call it "mac," for obvious reasons (but with much endearment)! big_smile  i love its graphics; apple's graphics is far superior that any others' (at least, as far as i'm concerned)! smile i am just wondering whether apple would also make a black version of the macbook air! smile my laptop's color is black... i will try to post its pic soon! wink

Re: Introduce your machine

i have 2 macs.
I decided to get a mac just 2 months ago after wasting soo much time configuring windows to do things. cleaning up the disks, removing viruses and waiting for it to start.

now using a mac makes me use my time much much wisely!

1. white macbook (non-sta rosa)
2. imac 20 inch.

they're easy to use and very powerful. You can do stuff while you're burning DVDs....and it starts up very fast.

Re: Introduce your machine

I have a 2008 Macbook with multi-touch keypad. it's silver and black. and it's my first laptop so im so lucky. I named it Macky. smile It's the version that doesn't have any numeric keypads anymore and no built-in modem so those are the nega about it but i read you can use the iphone as its numeric keypad and the LAN ethernet card wiil do for internet connection. We're both in the honeymoon stage pa. Hopefully, I won't say much nega about it in the future. smile

Re: Introduce your machine

Intro your machine:
1. Make/Model/Year :
- Apple iPhone 3G (pwede ba ito? Hehehe). I usually browse the Kfam forums before I sleep with my iPhone.

2. Equipment that comes with it  - superdrive /dvdr ?
- Err. usb charger

3. Does it have a name? If any?
- I named my iPhone Onyx since I name my computers/cellphones after colors/materials. Though I wished I had a Black Thinkpad named Ebony and white apple laptop named Ivory. Hehehe

4. What you love / hate about it.
- No Copy/Paste function!!!

5. What is your BURNING QUESTION about this computer/internet use?
- When will apple implement COPY/PASTE?

6. Color of your PC :
- Shiny, glossy Black.

7. Show us a Picture, if you want.
- it looks like a regular iphone but this one is special because this one is mine. Hehehe.

Re: Introduce your machine

i'm using a Mac Powerbook G4 running on OS X 10.3.9, almost the Jaguar. my family acquired from a neighbor who found this left on the subway by it's owner in Japan. Our neighbor attempted to return it but knowing the Japanese folks who have a penchant for simply leaving still very useful tech gadgets anywhere when they don't like them anymore, he wasn't able to do so and brought it home here in the Philippines. since he has no real liking of computers and laptops, he sold this to us for as cheap price of P20k+ w/o realizing that a 2nd hand Mac can still fetch for 40-60 grand as far as this model is concerned.

i'm happy that we acquired this laptop for i find the Mac environment user-friendly and am not afraid of viruses. it has built-in cd/dvd burner, awesome sound,built-in bluetooth, MS Office for Mac, DVD player, internet ready - from dial-up to wi-fi. the only thing i hate is the Safari browser for it's not compatible w/ some sites. aovera-all, there's not much for us to install for everything we need is already in here.  the thing is, why can't i download Bro. Bo's audio teachings? i don't have an mp3 player and my Asus v66 phone is not compatible w/ the software but i want to burn a compilation of the teachings on a CD so i can still listen even offline.

Re: Introduce your machine

A. If you don't intend to play games or run any windows applications, then a mac is a good choice. The advantage of a mac is it is generally user friendly for new users and there are less virus to worry about. The problem is that if you come from a windows environment, you have to relearn some stuff and upgrading stuff usually means buying the newest model.

For your web browser problems, try installing firefox for Mac. http://www.firefox.com

For burning CD's, try Apple iTunes. http://www.apple.com/itunes/

The best thing is that these are all free smile

Re: Introduce your machine

Hi...I need help.... i wanted to buy a laptop but i couldn't decide whether i'l go for "Macbook Pro-unibody" OR "Toshiba Satellite M500-S432" both priced at P60,000.

COMPARISON:

Macbook      1.  Specs
                       intel core 2 duo
                      4GB DDR3 memory
                      250GB harddrive
                      NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics

                   2. Mac is mac....parang hindi nalalaos,
kapag gamit mo Mac ... WOW ang
                       dating.

                   3. Hindi daw na-V-virus.

                   4. But, if first time user ka maiinis ka daw
dahil ang OS ay hindi the usual
                       windows na nakasanayan na.

                   5. Baka kailangan lahat ng programs na gusto
mo iinstall baka dapat original para
                       i-recognize nya.

Toshiba

                    1. Specs
Intel Core i3 330M Processor               (latest than Core 2 duo)
                        2GB DDR3 memory
                        500GB Sata hard drive
                       NVIDIA Geforce G310M graphics
                       Windows 7
                        Touch screen

                    2. gusto ko dito touch screen cia
                        and mukang mas mganda specs
                        compared to Mac

                    3. Yun nga lang 60k cia, kasing
                        mahal din ng Mac.....

I'm planning to buy at singapore dahil mas mura daw dun. (is it true????)

Please help me decide between the two...... Sa July 6 na ko bibili so i need your opinion asap.

thanks po.
